Unfortunately, All the Slates are much more expensive then the convertibles.
Probably because they are aimed more at vertical markets and not consumers, and as such are not that price sensitive.

Personally, I feel that convertibles while heavier are the best compromise, especially if you don't have another computer or a proper desktop docking setup.
