Ahh yes, I forgot that. Then the problem must be the base Android plugin taking more than 3 seconds to decide that a device is unknown. In any event, the workaround is the same, increase CC's timeout.
@manxam: you could probably avoid the problem by disabling the android device plugin. Of course, don't disable it if you ever connect an android device to calibre using a cable.
