Per your advice I downloaded Overdrive to my NC and with DropBox setup with my Calibre library I am able to download the book (epub) to my NC from DropBox and open with either Aldiko -OR- Overdrive...although I sort of like Aldiko's menu options for reading better.
So, you can read epub's with Overdrive on the NC
