Have you tried a reset on the mini?
Hold power button for 10 seconds or so, release for a few seconds, press again for a few seconds (OK, unlikely to work, seems like you have corrupted the current firmware).

Not sure how to do a hardware reset on the mini, tends to be a combination of holding 1 of the buttons down while powering up the device.
