A long long time ago, in a galaxy far away, I was an Earth and Beyond player and just loved the game. After a couple of years the company announced a "sunset date" as they wanted to move on to another game.

So the last day, the last few hours, I flew around in my ship from planet to planet, reminiscing and touring the galaxy from one end to the other. When they said "sunset", I figured it'd be a nice fade to black, or a glow that would spread in some huge cosmic explosion. Instead, they merely turned off the power and all I had was "connection lost" on my screen. Not very poetic or nostalgic at all. All too pragmatic.
