I have not but I've seen a couple tutorials where folks have soldered a SD slot drive, another where they soldered a bluetooth tty.

For me the way I've extended my K2 memory slot is by creating a web server and using the 3G to download the book of choice. Keeps the clutter on the Kindle down.
