Not me -- I have a "goal" because I like having something for my marker to approach on the ticker. I'm kind of shallow that way.

I do prefer longer books, but I also enjoy some shorter books. I tend to try to avoid books that have less than 200 pages, although I have read some really good ones that were that were only about 170 pages or so.
