I am afraid I have never seen a 600 bracket, so I am not sure how to do that. I have read that the 600 bracket is a bit longer and that it is possible to shorten it by cutting out a piece in the middle, but I hope that there are people with more experience on this forum. I would not start cutting away just based on my knowledge here.
