This could work both ways. You could grab some of these articles, and when asked by your SO what you're reading, you can honestly say you're reading it just for the article. After a couple articles, you can then actually get the full magazine and just say "I don't want to wait for the articles to hit Kindle, so I figured I could read them now..."
Just make sure you don't say that when there's a whopping set of gazombas staring back at you, instead of some thought provoking interview with some other person.
