Ever notice how sometimes companies don't always place their ads in the most appropriate places? Like the ad for World of Warcraft I just saw before a "Deck the Halls" Christmas video on YouTube? Years ago, I remember seeing an ad in our phone book for the cities of Norfolk, Portsmouth, and Virginia Beach that had to take the prize for the "Most Inappropriate Ad Placement in the History of Ad Placements" category. By itself, the ad seemed quite innocuous. It read simply: "Miss those you love? Call them long-distance." So what was the problem?
Spoiler:
It was on the page for funeral homes.
