Thanks a million for the recipes. All work fine when I transfer the results to my PRS-500.

I changed the RSS feed for The Nation's recipe to:

http://feedproxy.google.com/ArticlesFromTheNation

in order to have more of the magazine's content downloaded. I don't mind that some of the articles will be copied again the next time I do a download.

Again, thanks very much for what you've supplied and a big thank you to kovidgoyal (and others?) for creating and maintaining the calibre program. It's super.
