Nesbit, Edith: Melisande. V1. 22 Jan 2013

English writer Edith Nesbit (1858 – 1924) put a satirical spin on the Rapunzel story in her short story Melisande, which was first published in 1900 in The Strand magazine.

Melisande was also featured in the latest Selected Shorts podcast; it was read by American actress and comedienne Jane Curtin.
