If so, you need to wait a little while for libprs500 to finish reading information from the reader. Then, if you click on the reader icon (for example) it should show you the books in the reader's main memory. Similarly, clicking on the memory card icon should show you books on the card.

It must've been a permissions thing. I did a repair permissions and then everything worked like a charm.
