I really don't know if Komic works with KPW: I don't have one to test and, moreover, I don't think I'm going to buy one...
You can still try it, it shouldn't mess anything.
Anyway, as Komic needs GUI Launcher, you should first try the launcher!
As regards the battery drain, I *think* Komic uses a bit more battery as it needs more screen refreshes than a normal book (this is because you read comic faster than books).
