Nope, not anymore, the Sony 600, and the 'daily addition' where suffering from this. The reason was the touch interface as a seperate sheet OVER the eInk screen, resulting in glare and less contrast.
The new 350 and 650 from Sony don't have that problem, since the touch interface is no longer touch, but IR detectors in the bezel of the reader. Works great btw ;-)
The PB 903 uses a wacom touch interface (that sits beneath the eInk) , so working with a special 'pen'. The IQ has a 'normal' touch screen, just like any android smartphone..

So as long if you resist the temptation to buy price friendly older equipment you should not have trouble with glare. Erm the IPad is also terrible with glare (not to say any form of bright light).
