If it cost enough to be worth the effort you just return it. And if you can afford an Apple product then you shouldn't be concerned about losing the minor amount most apps cost.

Trying to restrict the use of "appstore" or "app store" is ridiculous. Analogous to attempting to restrict the use of "grocery store" or "liquor store". And the fact that both the current and former CEOs used the term "app store" to refer to competing app stores did not help their case.
