Nope.. Not at all. Look at this...

1. The Name of the Wind (Book #1) by Patrick Rothfuss -9.57 with ~44,000 Votes
2. A Game of Thrones (Book #1) by George R.R. Martin - 9.36 with ~142,000 Votes
3. The Fellowship of the Ring (Book #1) by J.R.R. Tolkien - 9.34 with ~500,000 Votes
4. The Way of Kings (Book #1) by Brandon Sanderson - 9.31 with ~12,000 Votes
5. The Lies of Locke Lamora (Book #1) by Scott Lynch - 9.19 with ~13,000 Votes
6. The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien - 9.18 with ~580,000 Votes

The first book has a higher rating with less then half the votes of #2. So why have the rating when the rating does not correspond with the votes? And if you look at the others in the first 6, the rating is worthless. I know what the rating is, but this is a voted on list, not a rated list.
