You could download kindle for pc, or other electronic device and send the book there. That way it shows up on your cloud, but not the carousel. I have kindle app everywhere, lol, phone, pc, two tablets, and for some reason amazon wants to send everything to my phone. That phone seldom does auto downloads for the kindle app. Therefore, everything sent to my "droid 2" goes to the cloud.
Not sure why that isn't one of the choices when you buy a book.
