My guess is that a whole lot of work wasn't put into image depiction/manipulation originally because of the limited grayscale range of e-ink and the requirement for dithering to depict many images in a decent manner -not as easy on a lower res 600x800 display. This tech was designed to reproduce text, images not so much... All that said, I'd like to see zooming support, etc. too. Especially now that resolutions are getting higher. Can't wait for larger units with better color displays in a few years for things that really do require color diagrams, drawings, photos, etc. at a less than crazy pricepoint.
