Sidebars Across Multiple Pages

I'm formatting an ebook design using Sigil that involves a number of text boxes that I've floated off to either side using a <div> with a width set to "40%" and float set to "right". This has worked pretty well.

But, if the box is big enough vertically to spread across multiple pages in the reader, it displays only on the first page and the other segments are not displayed at all. Is there a way to make this not happen?
