Hey, I'm trying to convert a PDF copy of a book into an ePub so I can more easily read it on my phone.
Whenever the source PDF has open quotes in front of some letters, like so:
they get turned into a single quote and an accented vowel in the output:
I know that converting from a PDF source is always kind of tricky but is there any way around this?
edit: no, I don't know why the source PDF uses `` for open quotes and '' (two characters each) for closed quotes. I wish it didn't.
edit 2: also the drop caps don't show up and the page numbers get interspersed with the text. F** goddamn PDFs.
