I do like Haruki Murakami too - read two of his books (The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle and Kafka on the Shore), but quite a few years ago - I remember them being somewhat weird and disturbing, but interesting. Maybe he ported that scheme from the content of the books to their behavior on e-book devices
