Hoppla, das ist nicht nur im Prinzip sondern tatsächlich umgekehrt. Englisch ist eine der wortreichsten Sprachen überhaupt. Französisch ist dagegen wortarm und leicht zu lernen (stimmt wirklich, Englisch ist nur bis zu einem bestimmten Punkt "einfach", über den die meisten Leute aber nicht hinauskommen).

Deutsche Sätze sind im Durchschnitt länger als englische, das macht sich in einem Buch durchaus bemerkbar. Eine deutsche Übersetzung aus dem Englischen ist spürbar länger, was völlig normal ist. Deutsch ist halt so.
