Great improvements in contrast
3d tvs
4k ultradef tvs
led local dimming tvs
led edgelit superthin tvs
smart tvs (internet apps)
oleds

If they stop pushing the boundaries of technology, people stop buying. It is the same way with anything, perhaps everything in electronics.
