there IS a check box for remove space between paragraphs which I left BLANK but its still removing the spaces.

1. Go under conversions - txt input - and check
treat each line like a paragraph.
2. Go under conversions - Look&feel - and check
insert blank line. (this inserts a line between paragraphs).
If this doesn't work experiment with other text input settings.
