If you can bear with me one more time. I think we may be talking pass each other just a little.
I think I understand everything you are saying in your answer to Question 1. I read the thread completely also. Basically if I want covers, I need to use Calibre to transfer the books to my Kindle. If I have books already on my Kindle without covers, I can use Quiris to extract and add them.
The answer to the Question 2, I don't understand you at all. Archiving the original is not a problem. (It seems to be a different issue from what I'm saying.) The problem is when I convert from EPUB to AZW3, the font is too big. On those books I want Calibre to either not change the fonts or allow me to reduce the font size a little without destroying the formatting.
I hope you understand me. I'm going to try these plugins when I get back home. I hope they fix these two problems with font size and cover. Thanks!
