--In case you didn't already find this out, the rewards can be used same as "cash" basically. Though the rewards can't be used on Agency titles, they can be used for all other titles. If you can find a title for $2.24 or less right now (they have their 40%+ off sale going) you could use it right now (if it's less than $2.24, you just apply the exact amount during checkout and the remaining rewards you have left will show in your account).
--It can also be used as credit towards the price of a title. If the title is $4.00, when you checkout you can apply that $2.24 rewards towards it and pay the $1.76 difference. Also, when you buy anything Non-Agency they tell you how much in rewards you will receive right next to the cover of the title. When you do use the Rewards $ you will not receive additional Rewards $ on those purchases, so any time you use the Rewards it's better to do those in their own orders and get close to covering the full cost with the Rewards $ 1:1. All the rewards $ you accrue will be shown as a total in your account. Hope this helps (if you didn't already know!).
