You can prevent updating by modifying these two files:
Code:
etc/init.d/rcS
usr/local/Kobo/udev/usb
You can (1) remove the whole update blocks, or, (2) replace all occurrences of "KoboRoot.tgz" by another name, e.g. "xKoboRoot.tgz" in these two files.
