To write out Chinese you use a system that uses the same letters as the English alphabet. You enter the pinyin (romanized version of Chinese) and then select the characters that you want from a list of Chinese characters that can match the pinyin letters that you entered.
I do not know if that works on this device but that is how it works on computers and cell phones.
