You didn't say "some connectivity," you said, "Everything I do is online, and as it happens that is the case with the majority of people today. Think about what you use your computer/laptop/tablet for, and I am willing to bet that most of it involves an online experience." You didn't say "developed world" either, you said as quoted above and the developed world is not the majority... even in the developed world, I'm at home and there is no free Wi-Fi within over a mile of my location, my only access is my own link and I don't use it most of the time just some of the time as I have too many other things to do... like reading, socialising, working and more so the majority of my computing certainly doesn't involve being on line... why would I need to be online creating artwork, writing, designing, and fixing hardware??? I also know people who use the cloud but as an adjunct to their primary storage usage not the primary.

Using the net, Wi-Fi etc doesn't mean everything or the majority of people, it's just another tool not the "be all and end all" of everything... and I do rely on the net for lots of things just not the centre of all life... and it may also be possible that there isn't (yet) a great reader for online reading hence no real suggestions...
