Problems installing Version: 0.4.109 on Ubuntu Server 8.10

Hi,

I tried to install calibre on my new Ubunntu server 8.10 build. I have a gnome desktop running on it. I tried to install it first following the ubuntu instructions using easyinstall. It failed at the postinstall point. After that I attempted to use the binary installer but again no luck. Below is the pertinent output from the binary installer. Any help would be great, thanks.

You can uninstall calibre by running sudo calibre-uninstall
