No it wouldn't. The reader must himself/herself sort out the clues, interprit them and find out what they mean, and weigh them against each other.
The reader shall not be given the solution, but must be given all the clues and all the facts that the detective knows, so the detective and the reader can consider the case on equal terms. Only then is it fair play.
