Thanks for the answer!
Even typing SHIFT SHIFT SPACE has the same effect as other shortcuts, it results in a zero length log file.
Further, I removed all the '; Kindle3-specific keys' from the keydefs.ini file. Has also no positive effect.
I'm clueless.
