Ruhe ist Bürgerpflicht:
Ruhe ist die erste Bürgerpflicht, geflügeltes Wort, das sich an die Schlußworte der Kundgebung des Gouverneurs von Berlin, Friedrich Wilhelm, Grafen von der Schulenburg, anlehnt, mit der dieser 18. Okt. 1806 den Berlinern die Niederlagen von Jena und Auerstädt kundgab. Deren letzte Worte lauteten: »Die erste Bürgerpflicht ist Ruhe«. Willibald Alexis (Häring) schrieb einen Roman: »Ruhe ist die erste Bürgerpflicht« (Berl. 1852).
