Oh it's been rooted since the day I bought it. I tell myself that it's because I wanted access to Google Play (and I have installed a few games/apps that wouldn't have been available to me otherwise), but I suspect it's likely because I just can't help myself. It's there. I'm a tinkerer. I'd hack my toaster if it had firmware!
In all honesty, I don't know if I'll even keep this (or any) alternate launcher. For all my tinkering, I still primarily use the device for reading. So I'm constantly switching back to the Amazon launcher anyway.
But it's fun to play a bit.
