possible to not save books in separate folders?

Is it possible *not* to have Calibre save each e-book in its library into a separate subsubfolder? By default, it creates a folder with the author name and then a separate subfolder for each title.

Although in the save template I've emptied the field where you can specify a string for this, it keeps doing it. Am I doing something wrong, or is it impossible to just save all your ebook files together in one single big directory?
