It is interesting that Sony and Amazon both have an "update firmware rarely" policy, Jinke has an update frequently policy, and other vendors seem to be between the two. Sony and Amazon can get away with this partly by producing good initial firmwares, partly by being so big that everyone has to work around their bugs, and partly by lowering their customers expectations of updates. The downside of Jinke's approach is that there is much less initial testing and polishing, so new capabilities have bugs. It is actually the vendors between the two I have the most issues with, inadequate quality control before release and then they don't promptly fix issues and introduce new features.

As I was trying to say, if you want a "generic" mobile ADE for testing it has to be from Sony. They currently dominate mobile ADE device sales.
