The 7.7 is the only tablet today with Super AMOLED plus, the plus means it's not pentile. This makes it the most vivid screen with a rich dark black color. Reading on AMOLED screens an night is fantastic, since AMOLED is not backlit there is no glowing. I do belive there is a WIFI, when I poked around on the net there where several stores selling the WIFI version
The 8.9 has the same screen resolution as the 7.7 but is an LCD.

AMOLED screens are still backlit, they just use less battery juice and have better colors (especially black).
