My wife read 1Q84 a couple of years ago in Russian. I read the American edition this summer. We began discussing and discovered that the two editions had two
very different endings and differing events and characters leading up to those endings.
This is not due to translations: the two endings are radically different.
What about your mother tongue's edition?
I do not share the endings here so as not to spoil your reading Murakami enjoyment.
