The fundamental problem is that PDF was never intended to be used for the purpose that you wish to use it for. A PDF file is a digital representation of a fixed-sized page layout. Trying to read a PDF that's been formatted for an A4 page on a 6" screen is just using the wrong tool for the job. If you want to read on a 6" screen, use a document format that intended for the purpose, like ePub or Mobi.
