The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon.
I find it difficult to say much about it without revealing the plot. The vocabulary and story are quite easy to understand but it also works on a more sophisticated level. You can get it from Amazon or I think it's free as a PDF file online.
