How well does the DX handle PDFs?

I'm not worried about search, dictionary, etc.

My concern is that I have a lot of books that are scanned PDF. Large files in the 10-20MB range.

My little Sony does a surprisingly good job with regular PDFs, but cannot handle the scanned files that are basically images.

I'd like to know if the 2nd gen DX (which is available refurbed) can load and page thru these files at a reasonable clip.
