I have just installed 1.4 and I think the machine is faster.

Before the upgrade I often had to click twice or occasionally 3 times on the "next page" to get the page to change. I assumed that this was a function of my Calibre converted books and/or the slow processor in the Kobo. Anyway 1.4 fixed this somehow. Worth the effort just for that.
