Interesting. When presented with those numbers, and assuming they are representative of the whole picture, one cannot help but think that Amazon is indeed milking its international Mobipocket customer base while at the same time abusing their quasi-monopoly position by pressuring US customers into switching to the Kindle.

It probably makes financial sense to them, but it doesn't strike me as a good way to garner customer goodwill. OTOH, companies like AT&T and later Microsoft have amply demonstrated what you can get away with when you're the only game in town...
