Post Swinburne, Algernon Charles: A Study of Shakespeare. v1, 23 Jan 2009

1880 essay tracing the development in the style of Shakespeare's plays. As well as the perfectly serious essay, the book contains two "April Fool" appendices (printed in magazines at the time), parodying the terribly serious articles on Shakespeare which were numerous in the 19th century, including an absolutely hilariously funny "Report of the Proceedings on this First Anniversary Session of the Newest Shakespeare Society" which is an attack on the extremely scholarly "New Shakespeare Society" of the time.
