There's almost an erotic appeal in looking at that photo that I find very exciting.

OP: I wonder how many millions of transistors this circuit has. I was explaining to my IB students the other day about an entire room/floor dedicated to a computer that used thousands of vacuum tubes to get it working, back in the '40s/'50s, and trying to get them to imagine their MP3 player that size.

I find electronics always to be very exciting to me. I remember building my first shortwave radio (a Heathkit), and loving every moment. That experience was better than my first marriage - and I'm not joking.
