I know - the Kindle seems to be there, and Calibre opens it.

However, when I try to send a book to the device (Send To Device), the "Send to Main Memory" is greyed out.

In addition, when the Kindle had been connected previously, an new column appeared on the left hand side of the list of books, showing which books were already on the Kindle (a big green +).

I should mention that I also clicked the "Connect/Share" button, and selected "Connect to Folder", and browsed to my Kindle. That didn't work, so I repeated and browsed to the "documents" folder on my Kindle, which also did not work.
