Green, Olive: How to Cook Fish, v.1, 13 April 2008

Olive Green is the pseudonym used by Myrtle Reed (1874 - 1911), a prolific author whose most popular work was Lavender and Old Lace upon which Arsenic and Old Lace is based. She also wrote several cookbooks including this rather extensive one (it was nearly 500 pages). It includes sections entitled Fish in Season, Eleven Court Boullions, One Hundred Simple Fish Sauces, and many chapters like Forty-five Ways to Cook Eels or One Hundred and Thirty Ways to Cook Salmon. The recipes are often only a couple of sentences each but there seem to be thousands of them. I thought this would go nicely with Patricia's postings on cheese, soups, and....umbrellas. Anyway, if we only had some bread and wine to go with. Or beer!
