Yeah, I figgered out that Badger State thing years ago. It’s all them dairy farmers wot cause it! In the summer they get up at 4 AM to milk the cows, then they get on a tractor and go work in the fields until it’s time to milk the cows again in the afternoon. And since it’s daylight until about 9 PM, they get back on the tractor until dark.
The problem comes in the winter, they still get up at 4 to milk the cows, but since the fields are frozen, they don’t have anything to do until the afternoon milking. So they go to town, and sit in the tavern all day.
And winter lasts for
NINE MONTHS!!!
