While saying something along the lines of "I went from hardly ever reading to reading books all the time because of an ebook reader" would be inspiring, the accomplishment of going from hardly ever watching TV to watching "a ton" of it is probably more of a dubious achievement. It is like saying "I went from saying no to drugs to being an addict thanks to a pusher".

Sony and Amazon certainly deserve praise for coming up with innovative methods to turn people to books, but I am not so certain the invention of DVR deserves equivalent touting.
